Explanation of the lubrication system for the drive shaft of the universal ball cage in Maidong
Industrial
1、 Reasons for lubrication:
In the universal drive shaft of Maidong Industrial, there is a cross universal joint that bears a large torque and alternating load during
operation. If it is damaged, the main form is the wear of the cross journal and the needle roller bearing inside. If it is not lubricated in
time after a long time, the working surface of the cross journal and needle roller bearing bowl will wear or indentation, and in severe
cases, it may peel off. This is why the equipment needs lubrication. So maintenance is very important.
2、 There are four commonly used lubrication methods for the universal joint of Maidong Industrial:
manual lubrication, drip lubrication, automatic lubrication, and protective cover lubrication.
3、 The interval for lubrication of Maidong industrial universal joint: depends on the working hours of the
equipment or components: manual lubrication: For equipment that works for 8 hours, it is recommended to
refuel once within 7 days before operation. For 24-hour work, it is best to check and refuel once during breaks.
Drip oil lubrication, automatic lubrication, protective cover lubrication. It is advisable to check once every 15 to 30 days.
4、 Lubrication method for Maidong industrial universal joint:
1. For the installed universal joint, add oil directly to the oil filling port at the cross universal joint, use a high-pressure oil gun, and stop the
oil overflow. It's best to start a few times and then add it again.
2. Add oil to the universal expansion joint, as above: directly aim the high-pressure oil nozzle at the fuel nozzle to add oil. If there is too much
dust, it should be removed before adding. If there is no or no oil gnawing, you can buy it from a hardware store to make up for it and add more.
3. If refueling manually: During the process, you can rotate it a few times or use other tools to make it rotate a few turns before adding it again
to ensure it is in place.
4. Lubricate with dripping oil: Pay attention to checking if there is still oil in the bottle, check it in a timely manner, and clean up any oil stains in
the surrounding area.
5. For automatic lubrication devices: once a month is sufficient.
6. Lubrication of protective cover: Check twice within one month.
7. Important reminder: If the cross shaped package and surrounding components are found to be severely worn due to prolonged use, they should be
promptly reported to the technical department or replaced.
8. Important reminder: During the operation of the equipment, manual refueling is not allowed. Please stop the equipment and refuel again. To prevent
accidents and injuries to workers.
5、 Selection of lubricating oil for Maidong industrial universal joint: (lithium based grease
lubricating oil)
1) Lithium based grease, especially grease thickened with 12 lithium stearate, can be seen under electron microscopy to have soap fibers forming double
stranded, tangled twisted bands, thus exhibiting good mechanical stability.
2) By gas chromatography, the adsorption heat of 12 carboxylic acid based lithium stearate and lithium stearate on alkanes was determined. It was found
that the binding strength of 12 carboxylic acid based lithium stearate and lithium stearate to the liquid phase on the surface of soap fibers and the liquid
phase inside the crystal lattice were relatively high. Therefore, lithium based lubricants have good colloidal stability
6、 Common sense question:
Why can't adding butter calcium based grease have a lubricating effect?
l. Calcium based grease is composed of thickening agent calcium and base lubricating oil, and its structure is relatively dispersed. If the transmission shaft
continues to operate for a long time under high load, most of the basic lubricating oil in the oil film will be separated, and the oil film will basically disappear.
Moreover, butter has poor fluidity at room temperature, and the rolling needle can only rotate in place during operation. Therefore, when the original oil film
fails, it is difficult to immediately form a new oil film, resulting in semi dry friction or dry friction between the needle roller guide bearing and the cross shaft.
2. After the deterioration and evaporation of lubricating grease, a relatively hard soap substance is formed, which not only fails to provide lubrication, but also
hinders the rolling of the needle rollers; In addition, there is no oil discharge device for the joint, so the deteriorated lubricating grease cannot be discharged,
and it is inconvenient to inject new lubricating grease. During maintenance operations, the injected lubricating grease cannot enter the middle of the plastic
needle, but is squeezed out from the safety valve. The lubricating grease inside the bearing is basically still injected for the first time and has become deteriorated
soap, so the bearing still cannot receive good lubrication.
3. Due to the poor toughness of the yellow oil film, while the universal joint has to withstand large torque and alternating loads during operation, it is difficult to form
a good oil film in the bearing. Therefore, grease should not be used for lubrication of cross shaft couplings, but lithium grease or gear oil should be added regularly.
